There are hundreds of thousands of Airmen around the world, and they need dental care just like everyone else. Add in their spouses and families, and you can see why our need for Comprehensive General Dentists is so high. To fill this need, we have a two-year program to advance the skills and careers of general dentists who join the Air Force. Our comprehensive general dentists, whether trained by us or not, work with the latest equipment and techniques without the hassles of running a practice.
Career Tasks
• Maintain the dental health of Airmen and their families by supplementing the Air Force dental specialists
• Examine, diagnose and treat diseases, abnormalities, injuries and dysfunctional disorders of the oral cavity
• Evaluate findings; prescribe type, extent and order of treatment; and perform advanced restorative, preventive, periodontal, oral surgery, endodontic and prosthodontic treatments
Becoming a Direct Commission Officer
To ease your transition into the Air Force, you\'ll enter a five-week training regimen designed to educate you on the ways of both the military and military healthcare. You\'ll participate in physical conditioning five days a week, leadership training and classroom studies
