Position: Billing Specialist
Location: King of Prussia, PA
Shift: Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm
Job Information
- Accurate and tiemly submission of clean billing claims as well as payer denials
- Responsible for financial assistance program process approvals and denials
- Resolve incoming patient phone calls and email request within required 48 hr TAT
- Verify accuracy of insurance and patient information
- Ensures timely submissions and collections of outstanding AR and perform a variety of clerical and accounting functions to resolve billing issues of submitted claims
- Performs root cause analysis and identifies trends timely to minimize lag days and maximize opportunities to improve process and update the billing system as needed
- Accurate and timely follow-up of unpaid claims, by assigned payer/s and defined aging criteria to meet or exceed collection targets and minimize write-offs
- Researches claim denials by assigned payer/s to determine reasons for denials correcting and reprocessing claims and appeals for paymetn in a timely manner
- Work with clinicians, patients and health plans in the submission and follow up for Prior Authorizations and appeals
- Working with clinicians to obtain and submit required medical records
- Knowledge of insurance carriers and claims submission processes.
Requirements
- 2 Years College/Associates Degree preferred or equivalent experience
- Experience 1-3 years minimum in a healthcare billing, health insurance or equivalent operations work environment
- Proficient in the use of Windows based applications, Microsoft Office Applications and Internet Explorer
