Plymouth Dental Group seeks a General Dentist to join our team in providing high-quality care to our patients.

Reporting to the President of Beacon Dental Health, PC, the General Dentist will work collaboratively with Beacon Dental Health Management, LLC’s Chief Clinical Officer and Senior Director of Practice Success to facilitate the success of the practice. The General Dentist will also work in partnership with the practice level Office Manager to maintain, implement, and support practice standards and expectations.

Additionally, the General Dentist will:

  • Provide hands-on dental care while achieving the highest levels of quality, efficiency, accessibility, and responsiveness
  • Provide after-hours emergency on-call coverage, including weekend and holidays
  • Utilize diagnostic and treatment techniques and delegates care as appropriate
  • Maintain necessary credentialing, licensure and continuing education requirements
  • Provide a full range of dental services within the defined scope of training
  • Provide general supervision of office clinical staff while working
  • Participate in the company’s quality assurance program
  • Follow company clinical protocols for the delivery of patient care services
  • Help provide a safe working environment for other clinical staff

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

  • Work involves considerable exposure to unusual elements such as extreme temperatures, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises
  • Moderate physical activity. Position may require handling average-weight objects up to 15-20lbs, assisting with patients, and standing and/or walking during the day, and sitting for prolonged periods of time
  • Will work with blood or blood-borne pathogens, and will require OSHA training
  • Work environment involves exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations that require following extensive safety precautions and may include the use of protective equipment

Knowledge, Skills, and Technical Qualities

  • Ability to maintain quality, safety and/or infection control standards
  • Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of modern dentistry and endodontics
  • Thorough knowledge of dental terminology and dental science
  • Thorough understanding of the theories, methods and procedures for the prevention of pulpal and periapical diseases and the required corrective treatment
  • Knowledge of current principles, methods and procedures for the delivery of endodontic evaluations, diagnosis and treatment
  • Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements

The general dentist must:

  • Fully license with the Massachusetts State Board (BORID)
  • Be a DDS or DMD graduated from a nationally accredited institution
  • Hold an active a DEA license, MSCR, Malpractice/Liability Insurance, and CPR certification
  • Minimum of 2+ years providing dental services in a private practice setting preferred.
