(Archived) Billing Specialist

Job Summary

The Billing Specialist is responsible for reviewing the accuracy of dental charting in relation to coded procedures generated by Boomerang. Reports to the Billing Manager and are under the supervision of the Central Billing Leads.

Responsibilities

• Posting of performed procedures for claim submissions
• Quality check of charts for accurate billing of performed services
• Use of the Billing console to identify non-posted appointments for processing
• Identify and communicate common errors to ensure accurate billing
• Detailed view of treatment planned, and procedures performed to ensure that they are within the payer guidelines and meet the Company compliance standards.
• Generation of claims to payers
• Assist with other duties and projects assigned by the Billing Manager and/or Leads as needed

Qualifications

• General knowledge of Current Dental Terminology, procedures and reading x-rays
• Minimum of 6 months of insurance verification experience
• Knowledge of Medicaid and Commercial insurance benefits and regulations.
• Ability to work well with a team
• Attention to detail
• Must enjoy working in a fast pace environment.
• Able to organize work, engage in a variety of tasks simultaneously and consistently meet deadlines
• Ability to evaluate and interpret data
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Experienced in the Microsoft™ Office products
