(Archived) Commercial Insurance Poster
Job Description
The Commercial Insurance performs day-to day cash posting activities within Benevis’ revenue operations. Completes accurate and timely posting of all mail, lockbox deposits and electronic remits from insurance, patients, and third party payers.
Responsibilities
• Apply Commercial Insurance payments to unpaid patient accounts
• Apply Customer Statement Payments to unpaid patient accounts
• Scan EOBs and correspondence into patient accounts
• Perform debit/credit adjustments, payment application reversals and corrections as needed
• Responsible for answering specific inquiries from Central Billing Team and Field Offices
• Responsible for ensuring that all reports are completed timely
• Ensure that eligibility and benefits have been properly verified prior to posting payments and making adjustments
• Ensure that all services billed are accurate and within payer regulations prior to posting payments and making adjustments
• Ensure that all account balances are correct prior to patient statement release
• Ensure that all claims are submitted to secondary payer with necessary attachments when applicable
• Responsible for submission of missing information via EOB request due to verification or billing omissions
• Commercial Insurance Poster must work at a pace that would ensure payments are posted accurately and within management pre-determined deadlines
• Must meet and maintain minimum production and quality goals of 96%
• Assist with other office duties and projects to support AR/Posting Department and AR/Posting manager as needed.
Qualifications
• Minimum of one (1) year as a Benevis Certified Biller
• Minimum of one (2) years of Commercial Insurance Verification and or Dental Posting experience
• Knowledge of Commercial payer dental billing regulations
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and with others in a fast-paced environment
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
• Must be flexible with schedule to meet department deadlines

• Computer skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, including intermediate Excel experience
Physical Demands
Nature of work requires an ability to effectively communicate and exchange information with staff, supervisors, and other internal clients.
Working Conditions
Work performed in a non-clinical office environment. Requires availability for extended hours during peak periods. Hours may change to meet the business needs.
