Job Details:

• Meet and greet patients in a professional and friendly manner.
• Checks in with patients, collects co-payments and ensures new patients and HIPPA forms are complete.
• Schedules patients.
• Verifies insurance coverage and notifies patient in a timely manner.
• Prepares charts/EMR for clinic day. Ensures files contain required information such as lab results.
• Obtains appropriate signatures and provides explanations of the content of all documents requiring signatures.
• Assist with billing, coding, and collections needed.
• Follows established check out processes. Provides patient with testing and follow up information.
• Generates end of day report on a daily basis and confirms that all encounters have been captured.
• Answers telephones in a professional manner and routes calls to appropriate departments.
• Prepares any requests for copies of medical records. Assist with filing, distribution of faxes and other clerical duties.

Qualifications:

• Typing/Data entry test with a minimum score of 25 wpm.
• Complete and successfully pass the Patient Access training course.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills (verbal and written).
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced work environment.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Desired: Knowledge of Health Care regulatory guidelines to include but not limited to HIPAA, AHCA, EMTALA, Sarbanes-Oxley, etc.
• Knowledge of insurance contracts, collections, authorizations, and precertification.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to work weekends when necessary.
• Basic knowledge of Medical Terminology. Bilingual (English/Spanish).
