(Archived) Insurance Collector

Summary
Responsible for insurance claim collections, follow-up and appeals activities

Responsibilities
-Ensure that all insurance claims are submitted to the payers in a timely manner
-Confirm that documentation needed for claim payment is attached and sent to the
payer via NEA
-Review insurance EOB's to ensure all procedures are paid correctly and in a timely
manner
-Follow-up and appeal unpaid or underpaid procedures when appropriate
-Identify issues and trends with your assigned payer and provide suggestions for
resolution
-Send out collection letters to patients for insurance non-payment
-Work aging report to ensure all claims are paid
-Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements
-High School Diploma
-College coursework preferred
-A minimum of 2 years experience in dental billing REQUIRED
-Intermediate MS Office skills including Outlook, Word and Excel
-Experience with Dentrix, NEA and EDS are highly preferred
-Reliable transportation
-Ability to work office hours, some overtime required
