Each year approximately 5,000 FRCC students transfer to four-year universities. FRCC offers more than 36 career training programs that prepare students for immediate employment and rewarding careers. Last year, more than 5,000 high school students took concurrent enrollment classes with us, earning college credit without having to pay college tuition. And we were recently ranked as one of the “Top Online Colleges” in the country by Newsweek.
One of FRCC’s main goals is to offer educational excellence for everyone. Company History
When the college first opened in the fall of 1968, it was the first campus of the newly-created Community College of Denver - eventually called the “North Campus” of CCD. More than 2,000 students crowded into two metal buildings, and only a handful of programs were offered.
Things look a little different now that we are the largest community college in Colorado. Today FRCC has:
Three main campuses (plus several other locations for classes and labs)
Approximately 28,000 students
More than 160 degrees and certificates available
In 2018, as part of our 50th anniversary celebrations, FRCC recognized all the work that went into this tremendous growth, and we celebrated how the college’s efforts have changed people’s lives in our communities.
