Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) to join our team at a mission-driven Federally Qualified Health Center in the Greater Austin, TX Area. In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering preventive and therapeutic dental care to a diverse and underserved patient population, while promoting oral health education and disease prevention.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform dental cleanings, periodontal assessments, scaling and root planing, and preventive treatments
- Take and review dental radiographs (X-rays)
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, nutrition, and disease prevention
- Assist dentists with exams and treatment planning as needed
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) system
- Follow infection control protocols and ensure compliance with all safety standards
- Support community outreach and oral health education initiatives
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program
- Active Texas Registered Dental Hygienist license (or ability to obtain prior to start)
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Strong commitment to serving underserved and diverse populations
- Excellent communication and patient education skills
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive hourly rate or salary, starting at $55/hr (based on experience)
