Registered Dental Hygienist in Crescent City, CA

Our dental office in Crescent City, CA is seeking a motivated and skilled Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) to join our team! As a Registered Dental Hygienist, you will play a vital role in providing excellent preventive care to our patients while supporting the smooth operation of the practice.

Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive dental hygiene assessments, including reviewing medical histories, oral cancer screenings, and periodontal evaluations.

• Provide preventive and therapeutic services, including prophylaxis, scaling and root planing, and fluoride and sealant applications.

• Take, develop, and interpret dental radiographs (X-rays) as directed by the dentist.

• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, nutrition, and post-procedure care to promote long-term oral health.

• Develop and implement individualized dental hygiene treatment plans in collaboration with the dentist.

• Maintain accurate and timely patient records and document all treatments in compliance with regulatory standards.

• Ensure compliance with infection control protocols, including sterilization of instruments and disinfection of treatment rooms.

• Collaborate with the dentist and dental team to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.

• Assist with scheduling recall and follow-up visits as needed.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited dental hygiene program.

• Active California Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) license.

• CPR/BLS certification required.

• Local anesthesia and nitrous oxide certification preferred.

• Previous experience as a dental hygienist is preferred but not mandatory.

• Knowledge of dental procedures, terminology, and equipment.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with patients and staff.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.

• Ability to maintain a positive, patient-centered attitude at all times.
