(Archived) Assistant/Associate Professor of Endodontics
Job Description
Kansas City University College of Dental Medicine seeks an endodontist as full-time, clinical faculty for our new dental school in Joplin, Missouri. The faculty member will be responsible for the development of the didactic, pre-clinical and clinical endodontic protocols and procedures, integrating evidence-based best practices with clinical patient care as well as guiding current research and scholarly activity in endodontic therapy. The endodontic faculty member will collaborate with, and educate the dental Group Practice Leaders, Assistant Group Practice Leaders, simulation faculty, and clinical faculty in the current science of endodontics for patient care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Candidates must demonstrate a passion for dentistry and the application of endodontic therapy didactic principles to preclinical and clinical patient care, a strong desire to teach students in a demanding, fast-paced, academic environment
- Develop goals, objectives and policies for the endodontic dental education program within the KCU College of Dental Medicine
- Implement and deliver the endodontic didactic curriculum including pre-clinical materials, simulation and laboratory exercises
- Integrate evidence-based best practices with clinical patient care and guide current research and scholarly activity in endodontic therapy
- Assure the safe and effective delivery of endodontic dental care by the dental students
- Deliver clinical endodontic treatment for patients as needed in the Oral Health Center
- Serve as an advisor, coach and/or mentor to dental students expressing a desire for advanced education in endodontics
- Mentor dental student research in the area of endodontics when applicable
- Serve as faculty advisor for community-based activities in the realm of endodontics
- Conduct summative and formative pre-clinical and clinical student assessment in endodontic therapy
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervising faculty or Dean
Qualifications:
- D.D.S./D.M.D. degree
- Certificate of completion of a CODA accredited Advanced Education Program in Endodontics
- Current Missouri dental license or have an active dental license in a US state or Canada and be eligible for licensure in Missouri
- Must be board-certified or board-eligible in Endodontics
