Matrix Providers is Hiring Dentists – Independent Contractor Opportunities
Matrix Providers contracts with licensed dentists to perform medical disability examinations (no treatment or prescribing) for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) as part of the Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) process. These exams are part of the VA’s evaluation of veterans’ claims for disability benefits.
Role and Responsibilities:
As a VA dental disability examiner, your duties include:
- Conducting a clinical evaluation of the veteran’s oral health, focusing on conditions relevant to the VA’s Schedule for Rating Disabilities
- Completing the DBQ form for dentistry, which is tailored to collect standardized medical evidence for VA review
- Documenting diagnosis, history, and treatment in line with VA requirements, including ICD codes and any relevant medical history
- Providing a written report that supports or refutes the veteran’s claim, without prescribing treatment or medications (since VA disability exams are non-treatment evaluations)
- Maintaining accurate, confidential records in compliance with VA and HIPAA standards.
Qualifications:
- Active dental license in the U.S.
- Board certification or eligibility in dentistry.
- Minimum 2 years of experience (ideally 3+) in clinical dentistry
- Ability to work independently
Compensation:

$100.25- 109.25 per hour
