Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Dentist for a 50-day locum tenens assignment in Virginia, starting May 5, 2025. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive dental care, including fillings, crowns, bridges, extractions, periodontal treatments, and X-rays. This role requires comfort in treating HIV-positive patients. Initially, the schedule will be Monday and Tuesday from 8am to 5pm, with potential for additional days. The dentist should be proficient with eClinicalWorks EMR. This opportunity offers the potential for extension beyond the initial assignment period and does not include root canals, dentures, or implants.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

• Provide comprehensive dental care including fillings, crowns, bridges, and extractions

• Perform periodontal treatments and take dental X-rays

• Treat patients who are HIV positive with appropriate care and sensitivity

• Accurately document patient encounters using eClinicalWorks EMR

• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes

• Stay current with best practices in dentistry and oral health

• Demonstrate strong communication skills with patients and healthcare team members

• Maintain a patient-centered approach to care, addressing individual needs

• Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control procedures


Additional Information:

• Must be licensed to practice dentistry in Virginia

• Experience in general dentistry required

• Proficiency with eClinicalWorks EMR system preferred

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail essential

• Ability to adapt to new environments and work efficiently in a contract role

• Comfort and experience in treating HIV-positive patients required
