Job Description
Locum Dentist – General Dentistry (Maternity Leave Coverage)
Location: Northern Nevada (Reno/Sparks area; multiple nearby offices)
Assignment Dates: Late July through mid-October
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, weekly
Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (1-hour lunch)
Position Overview
A well-established dental group in the Northern Nevada region is seeking one general dentist to provide maternity leave coverage across multiple nearby practice locations. The offices are within close proximity, and final placement will be determined based on provider preference and client needs.
This is a bread-and-butter general dentistry role with a supportive clinical team and a steady patient flow.
Clinical Environment
- 2 Hygienists per office
- 2–3 Dental Assistants per office
- Adult patient population (100%)
- Average 10–15 patients per day, plus hygiene exams
Scope of Work
Primary procedures include:
- Restorative dentistry (fillings/composites)
- Extractions
- Basic prosthodontics (crowns, bridges, partials)
Not required:
- Root canals (endodontics not needed)
- Pediatric or orthodontic procedures
Requirements
- DDS or DMD (licensed or eligible in Nevada)
- BLS certification (required)
- Medicaid/Medicare enrollment preferred, not required
Compensation & Logistics
- Rate: Competitive hourly rate
- Travel support provided (lodging and mileage)
Credentialing & Timeline
- Fast credentialing process (typically under one week)
- Decision turnaround: ~48 hours
- Onboarding can begin within 48 hours of acceptance
