Position Summary
The General Dentist provides comprehensive dental care to patients of all ages, focusing on prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of oral health conditions. This role supports our mission to reduce health disparities and improve overall community health through accessible, patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive dental services including exams, cleanings, restorations, extractions, and preventive care
- Diagnose and treat oral diseases, injuries, and malformations
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and preventive care strategies
- Collaborate with dental hygienists, assistants, and broader care teams
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic dental records
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and community outreach programs
- Adhere to all FQHC, HRSA, and state regulatory guidelines
Qualifications
- DDS or DMD degree from an accredited dental school
- Active Michigan dental license (or ability to obtain)
- DEA license (or eligibility)
- Strong commitment to serving underserved and diverse populations
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience in community health or public health dentistry preferred
