Locum Dentist | Monday–Thursday Schedule | Sheldon, IA

A well-supported dental practice in Sheldon, Iowa, is seeking a locum dentist to provide maternity leave coverage beginning in early November. This opportunity offers a consistent four-day schedule, strong clinical support, and the flexibility to perform procedures within the dentist’s comfort level.

The clinical team includes three front office professionals, four hygienists, and three dental assistants to support an efficient daily workflow.

The Role:

• Location: Sheldon, IA 51201
• Schedule: Monday–Thursday, beginning in early November
• Hours: Monday 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.; Tuesday–Wednesday 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. with a one-hour lunch; Thursday 7:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. The dentist typically works through lunch on Monday and Thursday.
• Patient Volume: 8–10 patients per day, plus 8–10 hygiene checks
• Clinical Scope: Fillings, same-day crowns, bridges, restorative dentistry, emergency cases, simple extractions, endodontic procedures, cracked teeth for pediatric patients, and other procedures based on clinical comfort and capability. Treatment plans will remain in place during the dentist’s absence.
• Tech Stack: Dentrix and CEREC
• Preferred Skills: Experience with same-day crowns and emergency dental care; an active DEA registration is preferred but not required
• Compensation: Competitive weekly pay + comprehensive malpractice insurance coverage. Travel and lodging may be provided for the right candidate.
