Locum General / Pediatrics Dentist | Pueblo, Colorado | Thursday & Friday (Will consider Wednesday - Friday) | 8 weeks +

I am partner with a practice in Pueblo, Colorado searching for locum coverage. Thursday through Friday coverage. Client will consider Wednesday - Friday. Seeing pediatric patients ages 2 through 16. Will consider General Dentist with Peds experience. Must be credentialed with Colorado Medicaid and CHP+

Position Overview:

  • Start Date: 08/06/2026
  • Contract Length: 8 weeks - Likely ongoing
  • Shift Details: Surgery days (TH) start around 5:30 a.m. and end around 2 p.m., and Fridays are generally from 8:30 a.m.- 4 p.m.
  • Coverage needed: TH/FRI coverage needed more consistently. Client will consider Wednesday - Friday.
  • Call Requirements: None

  Work Details

  • Support staff: 4 Dental Assistants, 2 Front Office Staff
  • Patients per day: 35-40
  • Patient population/age: Pediatric population; average ages 2-16
  • Department description: High-volume pediatric dental practice. Approximately 7-8 operative appointments daily with remaining schedule consisting of hygiene exams.
  • EMR: Curve Hero
  • Special procedures: Stainless steel crowns, simple extractions, composites, space maintainers, lip and tongue tie removals (occasional), pediatric dental procedures under general anesthesia on select dates
  • Skills required: Bread-and-butter pediatric dentistry, ability to manage high patient volume, comfort working in a pediatric-focused practice. General anesthesia experience highly preferred but not required.

  Requirements

  • Board Certification: Pediatric Dentistry preferred
  • License required: Active Colorado Dental License (may consider licensing - average time to get a license in CO is 30 days)
  • Certifications preferred: Pediatric Dentistry specialty training; experience with pediatric general anesthesia cases
  • Minimum experience required: Pediatric dentistry experience required; will consider General Dentists with strong pediatric practice experience
  • Must be credentialed with Colorado Medicaid and CHP+ (required)
  • Delta Dental credentialing preferred (can discuss if inactive/lapsed)
