Locum Tenens General Dentist | Maine | Monday–Thursday Schedule | FQHC

We are seeking an experienced General Dentist for a full-time locum tenens opportunity at Katahdin Valley Health Center in Millinocket. This is an excellent opportunity to serve a rural community in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) while enjoying a consistent 4-day work week with no call responsibilities.

Please note: Cosmetic dentists and visa candidates will not be considered for this opportunity.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive general dentistry services
• Treat a diverse rural patient population
• See approximately 18–25+ patients per day
• Complete your own charting
• Deliver high-quality care in a fast-paced community health setting

• Dental Hygienist
• Dental Assistant

Ideal Candidate

We're looking for an experienced General Dentist who is comfortable practicing in an FQHC or similar community health environment.

Candidates should be prepared to work with:

• High-volume patient schedules
• Medicaid and underserved populations
• Patients from a wide variety of backgrounds and socioeconomic situations

Clinical references will be required prior to an offer.

Requirements

• Experienced General Dentist
• Willing to obtain a Maine dental license (licensure assistance available)
• Comfortable independently completing clinical documentation
• Experience in an FQHC, community clinic, or high-volume Medicaid practice is strongly preferred

Travel & Lodging

The client provides:

• Rental car
• One round-trip flight per contract
• Lodging reimbursement up to $1,800 per month

Please note: The monthly lodging allowance may not cover traditional hotel accommodations for the duration of the assignment. Candidates should be comfortable utilizing short-term rental options if needed.

Credentialing

• Approximately 30 days
• Minimal FQHC credentialing requirements
