I’m currently working with a Family Dental practice that is actively seeking a General Dentist for a permanent opportunity in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a provider seeking long-term stability, clinical autonomy, and a supportive practice environment with a well-established patient base.

The role features a consistent Monday–Thursday schedule possibly adding a Friday, providing an excellent work-life balance while practicing in a modern, well-equipped office focused on delivering high-quality patient care. The ideal provider will be confident working independently and comfortable providing comprehensive bread-and-butter dentistry in a steady and productive clinical setting.

The practice is currently experiencing strong patient demand and is booked further out than the owners would like. The addition of another dentist will help expand access for patients while allowing the current owner-dentist to step back from some days and hours.

Position Overview

• Practice Type: Private practice
• Location: Grand Rapids, Michigan area
• Operatories: 10
• Annual Production: $3M+
• Current Doctors: 2
• Hygienists: Approximately 5, with typical staffing ranging from 4–6
• Patient Base: Primarily adults, with some pediatric patients
• Hygiene: Approximately 3–5 hygiene patients per day
• Payor Mix: No Medicaid
• Insurance: Delta Dental and Carrington Platinum
• Technology: Pano, Five scanners, CBCT expected to be added
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, approximately 4–5 days per week
  • Typical hours are approximately 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
  • Friday is a shorter day, generally ending around 3:00–4:00 PM

Clinical Opportunity

• The practice is looking for a dentist who is comfortable with bread-and-butter general dentistry and has enough experience to work relatively independently.
• The primary clinical needs include: Fillings, Crowns, General restorative dentistry, Extractions, Cosmetic dentistry

Ideal Candidate

• The practice's preference is for a dentist with approximately 3–5 years of clinical experience, although newer graduates will be considered for the right fit.

Compensation & Benefits

• Guaranteed compensation during the initial six months
• 30% of production
• If 30% of production exceeds the guaranteed compensation, the dentist receives the difference so they are not penalized for producing at a high level
• Health insurance: $600/month
• CE allowance: $2,500/year
• Additional CE may be considered with owner approval when there is a reasonable ROI
• Potential sign-on/relocation bonus: Up to approximately $10,000
• Structure may include an initial payment, an additional payment around six months, and the remaining amount at the end of the first year
