The Opportunity

ICON Medical Network is seeking a General Dentist for an ongoing locum tenens opportunity in Fortuna, CA. This position is ideal for a compassionate, well-rounded provider who enjoys working with patients of all ages in a community health setting.

The practice serves a diverse patient population, with approximately 50% pediatric and 50% adult patients. The ideal candidate is comfortable providing comprehensive general dentistry, evaluating urgent dental concerns, and delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a collaborative environment.

Assignment Details

Position: Locum Tenens – General Dentist

Dates: October 26, 2026 – January 25, 2027, with potential for ongoing coverage

Schedule:

• Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

• Must be available during Christmas week

• Practice closed Christmas Day

Clinical Details

• Community health center setting

• Patient population: Approximately 50% children and 50% adults

• General dentistry and comprehensive patient evaluations

• Assessment and management of urgent dental needs

• Patient education, diagnosis, and treatment planning

What You'll Do

• Provide comprehensive dental examinations and evaluate oral health needs

• Diagnose dental conditions and develop appropriate treatment plans

• Deliver quality dental care to pediatric and adult patients

• Evaluate and manage emergency dental concerns

• Maintain accurate patient documentation and continuity of care

• Collaborate with the clinical team to ensure efficient patient flow

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered treatment

Requirements

• DDS or DMD from an accredited dental program

• Active California dental license

• Current BLS certification

• Board eligible or board certified, as applicable

• Experience treating both pediatric and adult patients

• Comfortable evaluating urgent dental concerns

• Strong clinical judgment and communication skills

• Ability to work effectively in a community health setting
