Temporary Pediatric Dentist – Maternity Leave Coverage

Start Date: Early March (Exact date to be confirmed)

Duration: Approximately 3 months

Schedule: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays

About the Position:

We are seeking a pediatric dentist to provide maternity leave coverage in a busy and well-supported clinic. This is a temporary opportunity ideal for someone experienced in pediatric procedures and comfortable with both clinic and surgical settings.

Shift Details:

• Tuesdays & Most Wednesdays: Regular clinic hours from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (1-hour lunch break from 12:00 – 1:00 PM)
• 1x/Month Wednesday & Every Friday: Surgical days under general anesthesia. Surgery shifts begin at 6:00 AM and typically conclude by 12:00–1:00 PM, depending on the case load.

Support Staff:

• Clinic Days: 4 dental assistants
• Surgery Days: 1 surgical dental assistant, 1 sterilization dental assistant

Patient Load:

• Clinic Days: Approximately 30 patients per day
• Surgery Days: 6–7 cases per day, including 1–2 breakdown cases

Required/Preferred Skills:

• Proficiency in common pediatric dental procedures: pulpotomies, stainless steel crowns, strip crowns, composite fillings, and space maintainers
• Comfortable working with nitrous oxide and general anesthesia cases
• Ability to treat Medicaid patients
• Familiarity with Dentrix EMR
• Oral sedation with Versed is preferred, but not required

Ideal Candidate:

• Confident and competent in all aspects of pediatric dental care
• Must be able to work independently in both clinic and OR settings
• Reliable, punctual, and committed for the full term of the assignment
