Pediatric Dentist or Pediatric-Experienced General Dentist

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Pediatric Dentist—or a General Dentist with significant pediatric practice experience—to support two growing dental offices in Post Falls and Hayden, Idaho.

Post Falls is the primary location and requires approximately two to three days of coverage per week. The Hayden office currently operates approximately three to four days per month and offers greater scheduling flexibility. The client is flexible regarding how coverage is divided between the two locations.

A provider may be able to begin part-time before November and transition to full-time once the current provider departs. Earlier start dates may also be considered for the right candidate.

Practice Highlights

• Approximately 3,100 active patients across both locations
• 14 operatories
• Approximately 566 new patients during the past 12 months
• Strong patient growth and consistent demand
• Daily volume may reach approximately 55 patients
• Typical schedule includes one treatment column and three to four hygiene columns
• Hygiene appointments are generally scheduled every 30 minutes
• Experienced dental assistants help minimize the doctor’s chair time during hygiene checks
• Significant clinical autonomy and scheduling flexibility

Ideal Candidate

A board-certified Pediatric Dentist is preferred; however, the client is very open to General Dentists with meaningful experience working in a true pediatric practice.

General Dentists whose pediatric experience is limited to treating children in a family practice would not be the best fit. Candidates must understand the pace, workflow, and clinical demands of a high-volume pediatric office.

The ideal provider is:

• Comfortable practicing high-volume pediatric dentistry
• Experienced managing multiple hygiene columns
• Able to work independently with limited onsite mentorship
• Confident communicating with children and their parents
• Restorative in treatment philosophy
• Flexible, positive, and comfortable adapting to a growing practice
• Experienced with oral sedation, although this is preferred rather than required

Newly certified Pediatric Dentists will be considered. Candidates should understand that onsite mentorship will be limited, although remote support from other providers is available.

A board-certified Pediatric Dentist currently returns approximately four days per month and primarily handles oral sedation cases.

Clinical Autonomy

Providers have significant flexibility in structuring their schedules and treatment approaches. The client welcomes a dentist with a proactive, restorative philosophy while supporting the provider’s independent clinical judgment.

Idaho Licensing

Candidates do not need to hold an active Idaho dental license when applying.

• Estimated Idaho licensing timeline is approximately 12 weeks
• Candidates requiring licensure should begin the process as soon as possible
  

Qualifications

• DDS or DMD from an accredited dental program
• Board-certified or board-eligible Pediatric Dentist preferred
• General Dentists must have substantial experience in a pediatric practice
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced clinical setting
• Strong communication and patient-management skills
• Active Idaho dental license or willingness to obtain one
