Locum Dentist – Portable Dentistry - Kansas City, KS and MO


Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Locum Dentist to provide portable dental care to adult patients in a variety of settings, including patients receiving care at home, assisted living communities, and PACE programs.

This is a unique opportunity for a compassionate dentist who enjoys serving geriatric patients and individuals with disabilities and is comfortable delivering high-quality general dentistry outside of a traditional dental office.


Schedule & Assignment

  • Start: ASAP
  • Duration: Ongoing
  • Setting: Portable dentistry – at-home and on-site care
  • Patient Population: Adults, including geriatric patients and individuals with disabilities
  • Patient Volume: TBD based on assigned locations and whether the dentist is serving assisted living/PACE facilities

Clinical Responsibilities

The dentist will provide comprehensive bread-and-butter general dentistry, including:

  • Comprehensive exams and evaluations and restorative dentistry
  • Fillings, Crowns, Extractions, Fixed dental bridges, RCT, Partial dentures, Complete dentures, etc

Support & Equipment

  • Dental Assistant (DA) – assists with procedures and sets up equipment at each location
  • Dental Hygienist (DH)
  • Team Manager
  • Equipment and supplies are transported and set up by the dental assistant at each location

Requirements

  • Active state licenses in both Kansas and Missouri
  • 5–10 years of dental experience preferred
  • Active Medicaid enrollment (full enrollment required prior to starting)
  • BLS certification

The Ideal Candidate Has/Is:

  • Experience working with geriatric patients and/or individuals with disabilities
  • Community health or mobile/portable dentistry experience, and geriatric patients and/or individuals with disabilities is highly preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work independently in non-traditional dental settings
  • Compassionate, patient, and comfortable working with vulnerable populations
  • Comfortable using dental software for patient records and treatment planning
